I had two shots today...kind of draining. Glad the third one was cancelled :)

The first two are pictures of Jess.

I took a short break after this session...and it got really dark by the second session!
These are pictures of Melissa.

It was my first time doing a shoot at night...and it's hard to focus especially since I don't have continuous lights.

Let me know what you all think :)

I agree about focus being hard at night. A trick I have been doing recently is getting the model or someone to shine a flashlight on their faces until I can get focus. I feel the focus is all right in all of these but on my monitor they all look a tad underexposed by one stop.

I like the 3rd and 4th the best.
For shot 4 I believe if you cropped it to disinclude the OOF railing closer to the model - it would flow better. Tight crop from the bottom left > to the model. If you can visualize what i mean

I don't really like the rest of them very much, in 2 the shadows are too hard on the face and distracting. #1 is very busy, underexposed, don't see half of her face and the background is unflattering.

The first 2 should have been deleted. Way to many things wrong. Background, exposure, distortion just to name a few.
The last 2 just dont show enough quality to be considered portraits. If you had to keep one of them then the 3rd would be the best.
This is how we learn. Keep shooting.

I just got my first pair of glasses that I didn't think I needed. I apologize to anybody in the past year that I said their pictures were out of focus lol.

Thanks for the comments!

Both shots were really hard. For the first girl, I had my second flash laying on the grass and pointed a reflector that is supposed to be hand held. For the second girl, I had darkness....

Good learning experience I guess. I didn't realize how hard it would be :(
