Thanks for sharing these. I kick myself all the time for not bringing in the camera for my son's first haircut. I've been going to the same barber since we moved up where we are now and it would have been something to remember

Nice job and he did a good job too. I've seen a lot of kids throw a fit.

I really like these. The only thing I'd liked to have seen would be one or two with more DOF as the environment looks really interesting and could add a lot too. Not nit picking, they're great :)

Yea. This is my barbershop. It's one of the last remaining real barber shops for miles. They are the real deal. A few old guys from the city (I'm thinking Chicago) run it. It's also the only place in town you can get bashed on how bald you are whilst thumbing through a Playboy. All for 10 bucks!

So, the choice was easy. My son had to go there for his first haircut. I was also unsure how he was going to take it ... I'm super lucky he was good through it. :)

Thanks, echo. Means a lot coming from you. I love your work. I wanted to get more of the BG in too, but had to get these out fast. Kind of a shame because the walls of the barber shop are completely covered in lottery scratchers and pin up girls. It's pretty cool.

LOL. I know exactly what you mean. I blame THIS THREAD for making me buy it. But, I have to say I'm glad I did. It's my favorite lens. Even on my crop it's wonderful.

Anyhow, thanks for everyone's warm comments.
It means a lot to me.

Very choice in taking him to real man's barber shop. None of that men's haircut lounge, grab a coke, watch the game, have some ugly woman cut your hair non-sense. Reminds me of my grandpaw's barber shop in Old Metairie, LA. Been there since 1954. Nostalgia is where its at when it comes to barber shops and it showed through in these pictures. Great set. Great shots.

I agree zach. The barber and the shop makes such a difference and I will always support the local barbers over these run of the mill "salons" and "Supercut" shops that are out there. There is a certain experience when a man goes to a real barber that can't be recreated any other way. I know it sounds silly .. but it's true.

Thanks for your comments.

Our Barber shop is owned by two sisters. Their father was a barber and now one of the sister's daughters finished school and is working their too. I think once you find a good barber you'd be crazy to leave.
