I went into San Francisco last night for a Meet Up with a bunch of people that I had never met before.
This was under the guise of a sunset/night shoot.
There was also a photo contest.
No editing. Straight out of the camera.

First prize was a brand new laptop. Value of $2000.
Yeah, that drew a lot of people to this meet.

What they DIDN'T tell people is that there would be Fire Dancers there.

Well, I didn't win the laptop, but I did win a $100 gift card from Best Buy.
Here's the image that I won with. (Straight out of the camera).

Thanks folks.

Tommy, for that first shot, the camera was mounted on a tripod (obviously).
I had the camera in full manual.
ISO 100
Shutter Speed 1 second
Aperture was f/8.
Flash was my 580EX held in my left hand with an off camera cord, also set to manual, but at full power with Second Curtain Sync (had to put it in manual to get rid of the pre-flash at the first curtain).

Edit: you can see the rest of the images that I have processed so far here (external link) with the exif viewable there.
Second Edit: Canon 50D with the 24-105 f/4 L

Well done! Very impressed... Did you use flash on the first, perhaps after a long-ish exposure?

regards,

Alan, it looks like I was in the middle of typing out my reply to Tommy when you asked your question. LOL
Yes, that's a one second exposure with the flash set to second curtain sync.

Oh, and Thank You.
