I was playing around with some of my photos from my safari in South Africa. I thought this lion would look good in black and white because of his dark mane. C&C or suggestions are welcome.

I agree with your choice of b&w....it really works here....you could have tossed him a comb first though. I suspect you woke him up?

Great photos.

I was at a wildlife ranch, and a lion tried to attack me. Luckily I was in a safe spot. I went back several months later and they said he died of intestinal disorder. He was grumpy. Sad.

Thanks all. He was nursing a small wound on his hindquarters by licking it a lot so while he would lie down for a few minutes, he spent a lot of time awake even though it was a couple of hours before dusk. He was in a sheltered area right by the river that was shady at that time of day.

Beartrace - I'm not sure what you mean by "off light."

Mike -glad you were in a safe spot. I presume you were on foot? In Africa they say you are safe as long as you don't break the shape of the vehicle. The animals don't see the vehicle as threat or prey so no attacks.
