I am surprised at this result. It looks as if a limited depth of field is causing the 3-story portion of the building to be quite soft.

May I recommend a quick read of the hyperfocal distance principles at http://www.dofmaster.c​om (external link)

You are lucky in that with only a change in aperture and focal distance, you should be able to keep everything from the nearest bricks to infinity within your desired sharpness.
