The neck feathers look warm, I wonder if this texture is unique to swans?, nice shot

Sitka, Alaska? Until a couple days ago I didn't know where or what it was but then I watched "The Proposal" ... :D

Hello,

Thanks for the nice comments. We have had a colder snap here. We do have years where swans will stick around all winter provided there is enough open water. Their neck feathers are so hard to get to appear to be defined. These birds always look ofer exposed to me. I will get one right some time.

We were luck enough to not have hollywood crawling all over sitka this last year and a half. As a result The Proposal was shot in some small town on the east coast and not Sitka. Rumor has it there is a few seconds of real footage in the film when a character is driving. No official word here yet. We did have a Morton Salt commercial shot here though.

Nice shots, Bruce. We saw swans along the road to Haines once, but they were a distance away.
