Since I have started getting into the OCF, I decided to try it out at the pool during a high school swim meet. Here is one of the best shots I came up with.
Used a bare flash set up on a stand against the wall over my left shoulder.

I ask because a small flash changes the light balance in the sense that it makes the water relatively darker and greenish (as opposed to a larger strobe or no flash). Indoor pool lighting is ghastly on a good day so this is by no means a criticism. The lighting in this pool is horrible. I didnt try any without the flash, because I wanted to see what I was able to get with it. I definately like the shots with the flash over the ones where the flash didnt trigger. It really helped make the subject pop, rather then appear flat like it has before.
