Hello,

I have cs4 master suite, I just upgraded my computer to windows 7 in the last week or 2, i took some pictures while i was in boston that i am trying to work on, there were 2 cameras used a 20d and a 50d, anything that was taken with the 50d will not open. all of the pictures were taken in raw, i downloaded 5.5 update....i know they will open because i tried moving 6 pictures to my gfs computer and they were all fine, but i cannot figure out why they will not load on mine, what am i missing? thanks everybody

Downloading the update is not enough; you also have to install it.

If you aren't familiar with the manual installation process I strongly suggest that you open up Adobe Bridge, go to Help > Update and allow the updates to be done automatically.

Also, once the Update Installer starts running you should close down Adobe Bridge to avoid getting error messages.

Saying you installed it with 7Zip doesn't tell me much.

The Adobe website has very specific instructions for manual installation; such as
removing the current version of the plug-in
and, placing the new version in a specific installation path.

If you did neither, ACR will not work correctly. So you need to check whether you have two versions of ACR currently installed in the correct file location.
