An old canon WL-DC100 remote

I have an old canon WL-DC100 remote that came with my G1. Would it work with my 7D?

For the cost of a battery, I could figure this out myself.. It is a discontinued product, so compatibility information on it has not been updated anywhere that I have been able to find.

The prosumer dSLRs require a receiver plugged into the port on the side, they cannot accept IR signals from in front, like the entry level dSLRs (nnnD)

The 7D (and the 5D) work with these 2 remotes, without anything plugged into the port).

That is why I am trying to figure out if the much older, discontinued WL-DC100 works too. I am buying a battery today, with low hopes of success.

NOTE: Canon cameras that use the RC-1 or RC-5 remotes are NOT compatible with the WL-DC100, a different gentled is required. Make sure you order the correct one!
