Paid $400 and it sits in my bag while I use my 50mm indoors (does very well). It's summer and I am defintely not using it outdoors with my 70-200. What's a guy suppossed to do? Keep it or what?

it is deffinately up to u, and its depend what type of photography u do, I'm using flash a lot, indors or outdoors, even during the day, to fill light. if u think u never gonna use it, then sell it. otherwise hold it.

Same here, as I don't like flash photography.
And the 50 I have is the same as yours, it is
L-ish and all that is needed indoors.

I'll hold on to my flash & bracket & omnibounce
for a bit, the days are bound to get darker.

It is fun playing with the 580 and trying to get
pics that look like I didn't use flash.

That will always be the consensus, to give it to a good charity.

If you put it up for sale, I'd appreciate knowing, and will make a bid.

I'd be interested if you were selling it.

Way to much Canon to list.

As etaf said, try doing portraits with flash fillin. This is not easy to do to avoid the "flash" look. Lots of practice makes for confidence when something important comes along. If you do closeups, the flash is the way to go. Try using two, one for fillin or three, background. Lots of fun playing around.
