Hi Guys,

So the second hand Spyder 3 Pro i was hoping to buy has been sold to someone else. So i will be buying a new spyder for me...
Now I have few questions:

1) I was hoping to calibrate both my TV and monitor with it. But on datacolor's site..I find 2 versions Spyder 3 express and spyder 3 TV...is it a marketing move and both of them do the same thing? or is it that the one for monitor can be only be used for monitors?

2) Regrardless of what the datacolor's site say, Is there a significant performance difference between spyder 2 and spyder 3, 'cause spyder 2 express is cheaper...I'm only an enthusiast and not a pro..so if there's a subtle difference..i can make do..

Regards,

Spyder "Expres" lines typically have less features/controls compared to the Pro/Elite lines. The Pro would, among other things, have an ambient light detector to balance your system and would support multiple monitors, and would provide more control in the software. The Express is simple -- in fact maybe too simple for the best results.

Of course it is.

That's my understanding. Actually the Spyder3 Elite does monitors AND projectors.

The approximate $50 USD difference between the Spyder3 Pro and Express is well worth it. I've said it before... $50 would not even buy a dinner for my family at a cheap pizza restaurant.
