I don't really miss the cost of processing. I do miss the processing itself; I really enjoyed working in the darkroom.

I want to go to film to really test my abilities, think it is far too easy on digital really :)

Go out shooting and only bring a 256mb card with you. In my 5D, I put one of these cards in, you know the ones that came with the first DSLR's a few years ago and cost $50, and it gives me two shots in RAW.

That'll make you know your settings if you only have 2 images you can produce.

Granted, you can still chimp and take the same shot till it turns out, but that's sort of cheating

I dont miss the film days at all. Especially that I never have to have multiple rolls of film to detirmine the ISO, whether its gonna be B&W or Color and the grain pattern I want.

Nope, I love digital and dont plan on ever going back

Go back? I just discovered 35mm last spring! I can't wait to have my own darkroom to develop and print myself!

I just picked up a Canon AE-1. I absolutely love digital, but I wanted just another experience with photography and thought film might be a nice way to do that. Now I will never solely use film, but having a family friend with a dark room and printing room, I think I will enjoy the experience of producing the prints myself the few times that I am able to do so.

Depending on how serious I get with film, or how the enjoyment process is, I might consider setting up a darkroom and print room myself.

Started digital, switched to film. No desire to shoot digital ever again.

Not to be harsh, but if you have no desire to shoot digital ever again, why are you on this forum instead of apug.org?

Healthy mix of the two, mates. Digital for most things, kodachrome for those special sunny moments ;)

I actually have a number of unassailable reasons, aside from the fact that I don't believe any specific rules exist that preclude my participation simply due to my equipment of choice.

Are you offended?

I didn't intend to offend you, but I do highly recommend apug.org--an excellent forum for film shooters with lots of very great folk. Up until last December, when I essentially shot the last film I'm likely ever to shoot, I spent more time on apug than I did here. But I don't go to apug anymore.

Ah. How appropriate a discussion. Just in time for Thanksgiving. Yes, I do hate the flim buildup on gravy as well. Wait...what were we talking about?

Oh yes...typewriters...hmm...maybe not.

I have never had the pleasure of film, I know what you mean by the 256mb card, I know it would be cheating if I chimped a lot, but film I think you would have to be a lot more selective in what you take

I've got a 8mb one hanging around.

I miss covert peeing in the darkroom sink.

The equivalent action performed on a modern day digital processing set-up would cause a lot of damage.
