So I really don't post here, as i'm afraid of criticism. But there is a very large windfarm outside of my town, so one day i decided to go up there and see how big they really were.

Hi Mobius, I'm afraid your large images were too large to fit on the page........here's a wind farm shot of my own.

I never realized how big those machines are! I may seem a little uneducated but what is a wind farm anyway?

As the old saying goes, "A ship in harbor is safe but that's not what ships were built for"

You have a camera, show us your stuff. 8-) 8-)

I very rarely read harsh criticism here. Mostly just those things intended to help you develop a better or different eye for the image.

Cheers
Steve

I'd have to agree with that 1000%.

I'm not the worst photographer in the world, but I think I have a charter membership to that club. I've posted a lot of shots here, and I don't recall ever receiving anything but constructive criticism. Ever. As a result, I think every aspect of my photography has improved.

I like Steve's quote about the ship being safe in a harbor, and I think it's a real good example. That may be the retired Navy guy in me (I remember that old saying), but it's appropriate.

So, post often, and learn. That's the best thing that happens here...

Steve

Welcome ... and I agree ... about the only place where you might get heavy criticism on your images is in the Critique forum, which is what it is for. If you are having specific problems with getting your images in the right shape to share, there is a forum for Post Processing where you can probably get step-by-step handholding from folks who have "been there, done that" for every problem or mistake you can invent ... and then some!

Maybe those ARE full-size pictures . . . this wind farm may be in Lilliput . . .

Welcome, and post 'em all! Everything I know about digital photography I learned ehre, either by posting myself, or by reading the helpful responses of others.
