How would you achieve these photos? I need something similiar... What would you suggest? Here is the equipment I have:

Canon 7D - Canon EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM/Hood - Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 L IS USM /Hood - Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro
Canon Speedlite 430EX II - Manfrotto Tripod/Velbon Monopod - AdobePhotoshopCS3

...plus a chroma key green screen, black duvatine backdrop, 2 Photoflex softboxes (500w or 1000w), Bounce 5 in 1, EX430 II which can be slaved to the on-camera flash...

EDIT: I guess you can't link external photos... I uploaded them on here instead.

^Thanks.

Like many new people here, I am new to [this aspect of] photography. At least I'd think that's one of the main reasons people are here. I'm not new to photography but haven't done much with indoor studio lights, etc.

I obviously have an idea but figured with all of the talent here someone could intelligently answer the best way they would go about it (from experience).

Any help, even a diagram would be appreciated.

Looks like a 2 light setup...camera right and a kicker slightly behind subjects right side.

You can also check out THIS thread for diagrams.

Btw, please read forum rules re posting of images that are not yours.

/\ This.

Fairly simple 2 light set-up

I shot a similar looking set-up:

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO

Main light was a 43" umbrella, up high and pointing downwards. I shot the photo with the umbrella hanging just over my right shoulder.

Kicker was a bare-headed 580EXII with a deep blue gel, lighting across the subject at half the power of the main.

I own the rights to these photos when I purchased the website template... I have written permission to do anything I please with the template and it's content (I.E. stock photos).

Thanks for the heads up though.

Hmm, based on the two images you posted, I think it's a simple 2-light setup with a black background, you can get that easily with no post processing. Looks like a softbox 45-deg right of the camera (maybe striplight) and another bare flash or small softbox to camera left, slightly behind and to the right shoulder of the striped shirt guy.

Unless I'm missing something here, if so, please let me know.
