Lately, I've been thinking about selling my 40D. Too much camera for me to handle and my XTi is good enough for my needs. I have a decent set of lenses also.

I've always liked the G10 but it didn't have an articulated screen. Along came the G11 and it caught my interest. Hell of a lot lighter than an SLR also.

Am I crazy to sell my 40D and use the funds towards a G11? It doesn't seem worth it.

Not crazy if you're not using the 40D.

Though I'd personally sell the XTi and keep the 40D. However, that's because I like the size of the 40D more than the XTi.

It's a great camera for low ISO and deep DOF shots. If you will be happy with those kinds of images, then I say do it.

You could also just sell your 40D for cash and continue to use your XTi.

I'd test a G11 out before you do that, Great cameras I got one for my mother and I want to get one for myself but there's no way I'd pass up a 40D to get one.

Depends on if you can live with the slower AF and shutter lag of the G11. Not to mention the drop in ISO performance, DR and IQ.

Exactly what I would do, love the feel of the xxDs over the Rebels.

With the awesome set of lenses that you have to choose from, Sell both the 40D and the XTI and buy a 7D. But do what "feels right" for you.

Thats why there are so many different models out there.

Just an "ole dog" trying to learn "new tricks"! helpful advice is always welcome!!
