printer prob

Hi my dad is having an issue with his epson printer think it the 1600 on his mac.
was working fine till just over a week ago .
he downloaded something that was supposed to show him what things on his pc needed updated but when it came up with a big list he closed it down and since then his printer has not worked .

he can go into utilities and clean heads and and print test page.
but when trys to print from cs4 it goes all through print pages and finaly press print.

print icon appears on the doc then a small red number 1 next to it then dissapears and nothing is printed .

any ideas on what is going on.

Sounds as though it would be a good idea to uninstall the printer/driver completely, switch off the computer, then do a clean re-install. I uploaded an updated R2880 driver that even Epson eventually admitted was a mistake. I went back to my old driver and everything is fine again.

In a face to face chat with one of Epsons techs, he actually gave me the advice "Never Update".
