They will pay out on the date specified unless they receive notice from the merchant that the item was returned or the order was cancelled. I've bought a few special order items that weren't shipped or billed by time the cash back hit my Live/Bing account.

this is better if it happens! LOL.... you can use the $699 AT WORST paying retail, and still be flush :)

this is just daydreaming IMO :) Won't happen!

I ordered a 50 1.8 MKII on Dec. 1, showed "in stock", a few days later, showed "backorder".

On Dec 9, I called to see what was up, I was told it would not be in stock until Jan 8.

It was on my doorstep Dec. 11.

It appears the phone operators really have no clue.

All that said: The order showed up in my Bing account the day after I ordered.

Crap, just check my order status and it says 1/5/2010 (updated). I paid and extra $28 for next day shipment. I didn't know next day shipment is the new over a month shipment. Does anyone know if they can refund my shipment since I hoped it would come before Christmas. Now that its delayed over a month, I dont even care when it will be delivered. I don't think I will ever buy from Dell.com ever again. This is ridiculous

I just received the email revising the estimated delivery date on the 7D kit, which I ordered on 12/1. It had been showing Dec 18th, but now is changed to Jan 11th. My email did not ask me to reconfirm....it simply said they were confident I'd get it by the new date, and noted that I could cancel if I wanted.

The bummer of it is that I only ordered the kit because that was all they had for sale at the time. Now the website is showing the body only in stock for current delivery, but it wasn't for sale when I bought the kit. :(

Just to chime in: I ordered a lens (>$1500) during a dell promotion awhile ago. I was on the phone for more than 15 hours (literally), being transferred between multiple departments which all seemed to be disconnected from one another. One of the representatives I spoke to mentioned that they use aliases that are made up and changed daily. I'm not sure this is true, because it sounds relatively ridiculous, but this is what I was told. This makes it very difficult to talk to one person consistently throughout the process of rectifying the issue (which in my case was non-receipt of goods). At the end of the day I was referred to Dell Corporate Headquarters who finally made sure the lens was sent at an even further discounted rate, but only after an unfortunate amount of time on the phone.

my 5dii kit now says expected delivery is 1/06/10.

Got my 70-200 f4L IS 2 days after the order was placed.

Cashback is showing as "pending" in my bing account.

Thanks, I searched through a few pages in the beginning and end, and never got that far.

Just so you know, the 7D kits are shipping. Ordered one on 11/30 (maybe it was 11/29) and got it on Friday after them saying it would be here by the 17th.

The 20% did. They're not on the stores list, just put "laptop" in the main search engine and they come up with cash back. Only 5% right now.
