I just purchased a new 1dm3 myself, and I have been very impressed with its ability to focus in low-light gyms. How was your experience with focusing? Obviously the pictures you posted are in focus, but were you happy with the overall hit rate of in-focus shots?

I wouldn't hesitate to go up to ISO 6400 on the Mark III, as those speeds I just mentioned were used with not only my current 1D Mark II, but my former 1D classic. Horrendous stuff!
