Check this place out Mike. They're located in New Jersey. I used to shop here all the time and never had an issue with them ever. Give them a call. :)

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if there were some people buying up camera gear in order to resell it at a higher price on eBay or something...

The longer the 1DS4 takes to be released the more I realise I don't really need it.

Does that make me a pro now? lol

Thanks, Tyler,
I've decided to just wait until B&H or Adorama have it in stock and walk in and pick it up immediately from a tried and true store. (Lot of money for to take a chance on a new vendor - especially for me with whats going on now... hopefully then, within the next week or two she'll be mine... oh, yes...she'll be mine :)... next post from me on this thread will be me with it in hand :)

This has occurred to me since I got one, and it should keep me content for years; but a few minor bits and bobs seem to make me sense it's age having also a 1D4 and 5D2. When it does finally appear, it will be my 1D4 that moves on, given I really do prefer full frame and simply have no need for it's speed, and keep my 1Ds3 as my second body for the time being.

I was guilty of moaning ever since I got a 5D2 about the unreliability of it's focusing, and finally took the plunge with a 1D4 and saw the light. Getting a 1Ds3 was simply inevitable; but whatever the 1Ds4 should be even more mental :)

Should be soon now

Yup the problems happening in Japan will easily push it out to 2012.

No, it is. When you get your paws on a 1D body you instantly realise what all the hype is about. They are built like tanks, and that is a quality needed in the midst of a riot, war zone, or the wild. Being fully weather sealed is an obvious plus; I guess you either get it or you don't, but for me it's very helpful I don't have to be so cautious dealing with a camera that can take a knock or two! Just saying ;)

Jahled, Jdizzle has owned a 1dsIII since basically its release. He might know a thing or two about it ;)

Mate, do you really think the era of 1d bodies is over? They exist for a very realistic reason
