same!!

I do see a lot of people using the green box. Somtimes it makes me a little upset that they spent all that money and could a just bought a point and shoot. my Girlfriend has a awesome P&S and Ive seen better pics on that than other peoples green box camera. I do see a lot more people with nikons using them as a point and shoot than canon. Its funny a lot of people see my camera so they ask me to take their picture for them and then they give me the camera and I look at it for a minute and get confused because its on the green box LMAO! Im waiting to change the F,white balance, iso, etc. I want to change it for them and explain it but more than half the time its not worth my time. But! I do like closing the flash for them;) lol.

Boy you must have come on a long way in a really short period of time

Some learn fast. Some learn slowly. Some never learn. Some never try to learn.

The object is to have fun. If they succeed at that, the rest doesn't matter.

Im not saying Im a pro. But I do like it and take my camera almost everywhere. People think since I have the camera out with the tripod sometimes I know everything there is to know. I think I have learned a lot since April but I'm nowhere as good as the people on here. that's why I'm here, to learn more, not to be cut up ;)

Wowee I created a monster. I guess, no matter what opinions are, a lot of people have something to say on the subject. I agree with everyone who says it's about fun first but it is great running into a friendly pro who's willing to share wisdom. I remember running into an ancient retired photog who, like me, was doing macro work. He got so excited when I told him I had found a dead buck covered in maggots and carrior beatles I almost laughed. He got even more excited when I spotted a mantis for him, so much so that he let me mount mount his off camera flash and softbox so I could get this shot

Give me a few people I can talk to, instead of dashed hopes time and time again, and I'll be happy :)

My shooting probably breaks down something like this...

85% M
12% Av
2.9% Tv
0.1% Other, including the dreaded "green box". Sometimes all I need or want is a quick snap.

Two years ago you could have flipped the M and Av numbers, too.
