Hey all,

I bought a template from qesign.com and spent the weekend setting it up.

I have the sound set to not play automatically, and I'll probably take it off completely in the future. I'm still working on most of the site, but have a few portfolio galleries set up.

Let me know what you think! Also, let me know if you feel it takes too long to load. I'm on a slow connection it's fine on my end.

Its a flash site. Other than the fact I don't like 100% flash sites, you'll have a tough time with SEO. Google it if you don't know what SEO is/does.

It did load slow for me. If I were a customer, I might not have stayed.

Why not wait until your site is complete? Too many "COMING SOON" for me.

Good luck with it!

Yeah, I understand the lack of SEO with flash sites. I'll probably add a very simple splash page to rectify that problem when I actually launch the site. Why do you not like 100% flash sites? I hear people say it all the time, but maybe I just don't get it.

I'll have to work on the load time. Maybe save some images at a lesser quality to cut down on the file sizes.

I haven't launched this site yet, so that's why you see all of the "COMING SOON" messages. I will not be giving my address out to potential customers until all information is filled in. I posted it here to see what people thought of the design and overall feel of the site.

Maybe I'm just old, but I just don't like Flash. I like a clean HTML site, maybe a simple slideshow to showcase your best work, like on your home page.

I would just think having the site "done" people can critique the words too. Like grammar, spelling etc....not my expertise BTW!

I would agree about the flash. The text is a bit difficult to read for old guys like me :)
As mentioned, SEO will be a problem with flash.

can't read the text and i'm not old.

you might want to see if you can expand the template to utilize more of the web page. i like the clean feel of it, but the text has got to be alot bigger.

good start.

OK, I'll look into the text thing. Kinda scared since I don't know flash too well and I have a feeling it'll take me forever to go through and bump up the text size.

I just finished significantly lowering the loading time. Takes 1/5 as long as before.

A bit faster.

One more SEO thing....if you want to be found, I really suggest changing the <title> element from 'index' to something that reflects your location and your specialties.

Ah, yes. Completely missed that.
