Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a new photo management solution based on my recent changes in needs....

(on my iMac) A year or so ago, I moved away from CS3 bridge in favor of iPhoto (currently using 09). When I am in need of more complex edits, I use Photoshop CS3 (keeping my photos outside of iPhoto until I am finished).

After recently getting married, I have decided to move all my photos back to a management solution where my wife and I can each add to a library from our respective computers (XP PC, and my iMac), and I still have the ability to make minor or major edits as needed. My ultimate goal is for our photo library to reside on a NAS drive with a RAID 5 setup for added backup security. I have media center type devices that can display photos on my network (Apple TV, XBox 360), and eventually the web (the buffallo link station NAS), but support to them is not an issue.

I have enjoyed iPhoto's editing features for when I want to make quick adjustments to several pictures as well as the ability to create photo-books, as well as tag faces, and the ability for us to "see" my photos in iTunes for syncing to our respective iPod/iPhones is important. I also like having access to everything (personal as well as my "professional" shots) from within the same library

As a side note: I am somewhat in favor of retuning to an organized folders method to ensure cross platform compatibility between PC/MAC, as well as not having to deal with iPhoto's habit of automatically making a copy of the photo every time I make an edit. Google Picassa seems to be a possible alternative, but would it running from one computer "refresh" or "see" edits/changes made from the other, or would I have to initiate some sort of folder scan to do so?

Thank you!
-John
