I was at our local park last weekend and saw a small flock of Pipits roaming around searching for food. It's only my second time seeing these birds and the first time getting decent shots. Thanks for looking.

Looking towards the setting sun.

Snacking on a pecan.

I like the second image for the light, pose and contrast. A bird I have nothing on!

Nice shots Brad. How did you get them to hold still long enough to get their picture? The ones out here act like they are on crank and never slow down.

Regards,
Chuck

I like them both. I too have only seen them once when I was at the Brazo Bend park in Texas but my photos are nowhere near as good as these...congrats.

Thanks Chuck... They sure were constantly walking about but a couple were pretty cooperative. After taking some shots of them in the field, the bird in #1 flew right up and posed for me shortly. The bird in the second shot flew down and started eating the pecan in the shade of my truck.
