So how many of you have ever been on a lens diet? You know when you’re desperately trying to save some money for your last / next lens. Could mean eating only noodles and porridge, or something like that ;)

Hmm, I now started thinking that the title "lens diet" might suggest that you're only having / using a few lenses... sorry about the double meaning.

Maybe my next New Year's Resolution should involve a lens.

hmmm. Food=survival, Lens=hobby. Why is this so hard? I have passed up the opportunity to ensure the survival of the species to engage in my hobby, but I figured the species was doing just fine without me and anyway, I pitched in later, after the light wasn't as good.

I haven't bought a lens for over a year! Bought a 5D2, however, so still getting fatter and fatter.

Too much stuff, not enough shooting time.

Canon T4i (2 lenses), Fuji X100s, Olympus OM-D EM-1 (3 lenses)

Yes, but not the way you mean.

When I increased my kit by an 800mm, I ended up getting a Wimberley, a Gatzo and a new bigger bag. With all the other kit, it came to 21Kg (that's 46lb).

I looked in the bag, wondering what I could remove to make it lighter. Didn't want to loose any of it, so I decided to loose 21Kg of my own bodyweight instead.

So far, I have lost enough to cover the 1DsIII and the 200mm f2.0...

No... Lenses upset my stomach, and glass cuts up my intestines.
