Anyone shoot with the following combination? 24-70 and 135. I'm gonna go FF sometime in Jan when I get a load of £ from work doing overtime over new year and I'm thinking about lenses...

I've also got a 1.4x that I picked up locally second hand so that would make the 135 more versatile.

Yes, I have taken that exact combination with a FF body. Its my minimal, 2 lens package for travelling light in urban environments. Even with a 1D style body everything easily fits into a Lowepro Slingshot 200.

I have a 28-70 and 135 setup. It works. But then again, you can make anything work. It all depends on what you're shooting.

yeah a 17-40 or maybe a 16-35 is definitely in the wish list. I think 24 will be wide enough to start me off though.

The 24-70 should give me a great general purpose lens and the 135 will be "magic" for portraits. The other priority I have is a FF replacement for my sigma 30mm. I'm aiming for the sigma 50 but have the canon 50 1.8 to start me off...

17-40 is a great lens and at around half the cost of the 16-35 well worth it.

I went the extreme and got the 14mm prime and thats fantastic I also opted out of getting the 5D MK II kit 24-105 and instead got the 24-70 as thats a brilliant lens. I hope one day Canon will make a 14-24mm like Nikon.

I don't have the 135l but I've only heard good things about it.

That combination is excellent with FF, plus the 135 works really well with both the 1.4x tele extender and extension tubes (the 24-70 is also really good with a 12mm extension tube.

I love my 24-70 & 135 combo. the 135 is fan freakin tastic for portraits if room allows to shoot it. i love that lens and use it whenever i can for sure. 24-70 get most general use however.
