I went to go shoot the Juno Beach Pier but ended up shooting the surfers instead.

Oh man, my old hangout haha

I like the processing on it though. Generally I would think it is overdone, but it works here.

I would agree with this comment. I like the mood set with the HDR look.
Did you use bracketed exposures or pure processing?

Also, maybe try and keep the horizon out of middle of frame.

Thanks for sharing!

It is a little over done. I tend to over do my work more for contrast. This image was a single exposure. The composition is too centered for my liking but this was the clearest shot I had to work with. I would have cropped it but I would have lost the clouds which I wanted in the photo. I also used a grad filter. This shot was actually me playing around with the grad filter at the beach. I wasn't expecting to shoot any surfers.

I really like it. I'm a surfer myself and appreciate this shot. Florida is a great place to surf. Wish I lived there. I grew up in San Diego and surfed my whole life, but I still favor Florida for its lifestyle, the beaches, and the mystique of the place (at least from my perspective). But mostly I love the warm water.

Thank you. bw!

I'm not normally big on over processing but this is the sort of thing i'd hang on my wall! Care to share the rocessing technique?

This was a test that I was playing around with using a grad filter. It's a single exposure HDR. However I didn't process it as a 16bit raw instead I recreated 2 different expsoure from the originals and merged in using Photomatix.

The rest is all standard processing in Photoshop. I did use Topaz Adjust a little to pop out some details.
