My aunt and uncle have some farm land in indiana. They are in an area of southern indiana that is known as the bottoms or more properly the wetlands.
Several years ago, they signed a deal with the DNR not to farm a portion of their land, so that some wetlands could be reestablished.
I love snakes. i love to go out find snakes and photograph snakes.
So one day while looking for snakes, I came across the junk pile that lies on the edge of the farm land and woods/wetlands. And out of the corner of my eye I saw a snake.
I couldn't believe it! It was a federally endangered copperbelly watersnake! Gold mine!
I go there quite a few times in the spring and summer and have found 7 different species of snakes just on their property and I am pretty sure there are at least one or two more.
