Trying to decide on a gift (for me) for Christmas since I've been asked.
I'm quite indecisive so need your help!

Anything that I would find useful for me and my 7D... that isn't more than say £150.

Can't really afford a flash, or any lens I want. Grip is slightly too expensive for the 7D.

Anyway, fire away!

Got a polarizing filter? A good brand circular polarizer for each lens would fill the bill.

Nice Idea, but I don't see me having the 28-135 for much longer, and won't be buying another 72mm soon.

What are you expecting to get in its stead? You could always ask for a 77 mm and a 72-77 mm step-up ring.

You can get the grip for £150 if you don't mind imports.

Not tried these people before so not an endorsement

Next lens should be a 85/1.8

I'm unsure about imports, don't want to be taxed you see...

Saw that link, well... grip certainly a possibility, have to decide whether I really want one :p

Mmmmm did a bit more research and simplyelectronics sound like trouble so please avoid. As my 7D is coming tomorrow after 2 cockup non-deliveries I would hate that you didn't get what you wanted on time.

What about a Hyperdrive backup device? They come in all sizes of storage, you can even get the shell and add your own laptop drive.

Good Idea, especially as I'll be traveling soon...

I actually ordered the Canon 85mm f1.8 from Simply Electronics a couple of weeks back.

I then read all the reviews and suddenly had a sick feeling in my stomach at the thought of how much hassle I had got myself into. I e-mailed them after a couple of days asking when I could expect the lens to arrive. They replied promptly within 12 hours and explained the order process and helped to alleviate any fears I may have had. I then contacted them about a week later and they were very prompt.

The lens did take 10 days to arrive in total (which is what they state on their FAQ section) and once the order was dispatched from the UK it was trackable to all the depots. Although I had to wait a little longer, what I saved in the price of the lens was worth it.
