Differences in Hoya Polarizing Filters

hi am am looking at purchasing a hoya polarizing filter for 40d w/ 17-55 is 2.8 lens.
i can't seem to find info as to what makes the difference between:

hoya polarizing filter
hoya polarizing pro1d dmc
hoya polarizing hd filter

The color of the box helps identify the quality of the Hoya filters in descending order. Basically, the more you pay, the more coatings you have, and better image quality.

The SHMC (99.7%) has the best light transmission of all the Hoyas, so it is superior to both the Pro 1 Digital (97%) and the HD (99.35%)! The list has the worst filter at the beginning of the list, lest the OP mistake what was implied by 'descending order'
