A friend ask if I would shoot a Christmas Musical for pay. I haven't done for pay before. I am feel so unconfident that I said "you don't have to pay."

I want to shoot the event for the experience. I just shot a reception with the two 430s slaves to the 580 with mixed results. However, there was a white tent looking fabric ceiling to bounce off of at the reception hall. I don't yet know what I will encounter at the church. I'm firing the 430s with 580 that is on camera.

I have searched for light stand, softbox kits as an idea as to how to attempt the feat.

I would appreciate any suggestions. The deal is 12/9. So if I need to get something, the clock is ticking.

Thanks,

David

Here's the perfect time to pick up the Pocketwizards you've been wanting.

It looks like you'll need a couple of bucks to pick up 3 triggers and a couple of superclamps.

I do have a Cybersync transmitter and 1 receiver. Seems like they were pretty reasonable. What about the superclamps? Do I have to buy a hot shoe adapter?

I couldn't either. And the eBay units at the time were too unreliable for paid work. It was a toss up between the Skyports and Cybersyncs. Since I already had AB radio units I just upgraded them to the Cybersyncs. I've not regretted that move.

Thanks

Here's the perfect time to pick up the Skyports you've been wanting.

It looks like you'll need a couple of bucks to pick up a transmitter, 3 receivers and a couple of superclamps.

You need a hot shoe adapter for each speedlight. FlashZebra can fix you up with those.

Here is an example. It is not a superclamp, just a spring clamp I modified, but the picture does show the umbrella adapter, hot shoe adapter and the Skyport receiver.

Hope this helps.
Mike

Better yet, here is an example of the speedlight (540EZ) mounted on a superclamp that is clamped to the balcony handrail at a high school gym.
