i used to be able to click on a slider and then move it right or left with the wheel on my mouse but now it does not work for this feature tho the wheel does work for other things like before. now it is much harder to level a picture or dial in WB.

the only thing i've done recently is upgrade to LR 2.5 from either 2.0 or 2.1. it seemed to me i started experiencing the unwanted change about the same time but i can't swear to it.

anyone know what's going on or how to fix it :D?

thanx,

ed rader

I just did a test. If I clicked on the slider with the wheel first, I was able to move the slider up or down. If I clicked and held down the wheel, it worked as well, as long as the mouse pointer was on the dial.

i can do that too but i'm talking about the horizontal sliders like for levelling a picture. before i could click on one of them and then use the wheel but now it doesn't work.

Works for me. Like Nortelbert said, click on the slider with the wheel, not the left button, and the wheel will change the angle in 0.1 increments - without being pressed all the time.

I wish there was a similar control for the angle of the Grad Filter which is a real pain.

Just tested mine and it works for me also by clicking on the slider with the wheel.

Sorry for the late reply... blizzard here, other things got in the way. When I said "Up and down", I meant the value was increasing or decreasing. The sliders themselves (the little triangles) move left to right and vice versa. Perhaps your mouse settings changed so the middle wheel no longer recognizes a click

i don't even know what that means. if i click on the wheel it does nothing. before if i left clicked on the slider i could move the slider with the wheel. when i do that now i scroll down the right panel.

if i hold the right button down on the slider and turn the wheel it will move the slider but erratically. maybe my mouse is broken.

I don't know what OS you use, but on Windows the wheel can act like the middle button on those old three button mice we used to have. IOW, you can click with it. I wheel-click on the slider and then use it to change the slider setting by small increments.
