Get a used 5D (or a 5D2 if you want to spend $$$). Put the 24-70/2.8 on the 5D and 70-200/2.8 IS on the 50D. Should cover all your concert needs. Your 35L will also look fine on FF.

If not, get a 580EX flash.

And about the 100-300 versus the 300 F4 IS, that's pretty much news to me... is the 100-300 so good? I always kinda skipped that by reputation...
If I look at the 100-300 vs the 300 F4 IS on the-digital-picture, it comes out pretty terrible in comparison. Worse even than the 70-300 - only slightly better at the 300 end, but much worse at other focal lengths.

but if he bought a 5D classic, he would be wider (effectively) than 17mm on a crop using his 24-70.

I think the question, "What am I lacking?", is asked in the context of what the OP is already shooting; concerts. With that in mind, I think it's a lot easier to offer constructive options .

Well, then only he knows what he is lacking. I shoot concerts also and can't imagine asking someone "else" what lenses I am lacking. I think I would know by now (I do).

Maybe that's why I have yet to start a "what should I get" topic.

Sometimes you can't see the forest from the trees, that is why this thread was started. Had an idea of what was lacking and what I wanted, but wanted feedback and to see if there were any options I may be missing.
The second body is higher on my priority list now, saw how it would have helped me this past summer when I had to do a lens switch between songs of my 24-70 and 70-200. Need to determine if I really want to go FF or get another crop body. My next option is to get the 1.4 TC to add versatility to my 70-200. Then fill in the fast/prime lineup, building on the 35L as the bottom end FL lens. The Lensbaby Composer would fill my creative needs.

If I shot concerts/events seriously, I would get another body. I have a FF... I would most likely add a crop. I feel the need for another body at many events/concerts.

It would kill two birds with one stone for me. The need for more reach than I get with 200mm on a FF, and the advantage of not having to switch lenses anywhere near as often as I do now, at times.

Either a 7D or a 300 f4 IS. Although, on paper, buying another body makes way more sense, for me, I am tempted to buy the 300 f4 IS. Sometimes logic gets thrown out the window

I'd recommend Sigma 12-24 EX HSM. It changed the view alot.

He already has the Tokina 11-16 and 10-17, so I don't think he's lacking in wide angle
