Anyone using eBay remotes with Dyna-Lite packs?

I picked up an M1000XR on eBay and I have ordered a PC sync cord to hardwire up to the pack as a flash trigger.

As a backup I'd like to use my eBay remote. I can make a cord that adapts the 1/4" output of the remote to a household plug (AC) to plug into the pack. Has anyone got any experience with this setup? I'm guessing the trigger voltage from the eBay remote is essentially the same as a PocketWizard.

I use a Cybersync with my Dynalite M2000 and M500 packs without problem. You only need a 2-prong end at the pack, not the 3-prong used on the standard sync cord provided with the Dynalite pack, and the polarity (wide blade into which slot) does not matter.

I don't know which eBay trigger you have, but my cheapo has been firing Novatrons of various vintages with no harm done. I'm talking old blue connector Novatrons in the mix.

I have a remote off of dealextreme (yongnou or whatever, a RF one), it fires an old flash with a super high sync voltage with no problem when the flash is plugged in via the sync cord.
