Folks, hope someone can help. I recently picked up a Manforotto 222 head on the cheap - it was almost a steal to be honest - as the previous owner had "wrecked it" by lubricating the ball with WD40 or similar. Consequently, it wouldn't hold anything more than a compact without tipping over. None the less, I bought it and have been soaking up as much of the lube as I can and it is now useable in upright mode, but if I lean it over, it still wont hold the weight of my camera.
So.....would anybody have a service manual on one of these as I would like to take it apart and fix it up. I'd rather have a diagram before stripping it so I know where to put all the bits back when it springs apart !!! I asked a Manfrotto dealer about the cost of repair, ad it came as no suprise it was about the cost of a whole new head.
Any advice appreciated.
