man... why does this lens have to be so expensive?? this and the 100mm contax planar and the 50mm makro planar :(

The Contax Planar isn't that bad a price for the optics though (sits at around $1000). Would make it hard to choose. Cheaper lens thats nearly as good but you have to deal with stop down metering or pay $800 more for the ability to focus closer and an electronic aperture.

Its amazing how this lens can take a boring and somewhat ugly flower and make it kind of magical (with a little PP in this case, though the original shot was very nice as well).

... And good luck getting anything remotely like this from the Canon. ;)

Renting the ZF version with Nikon to Canon converter. While I love my 200 f/2, this lens is something else.

The "I'll walk around the yard and take random pictures of nothing" test.

Wow 1980. That first one is surreal. I mean that literally. It looks like something Dali might have done. It is actually kind of freaking me out... And the second is no slouch either.

Hi:

I am very impressed at the photos taken by a Carl Zeiss 100mm 2.8 lens.

I have just bought a Carl Zeiss C/Y mount Makro-Planar T* 2,8/100mm lens. I would like to buy an adapter so that I can use my Canon 5D MK II camera with this CZ 100mm 2.8 lens. Would you please recommend me:

Where on Ebay can I buy a good adapter for this lens?
Is there any problem when you use Canon 5D MKII camera with Carl Zeiss 100mm 2.8 lens?

Your sharing is great appreciated!

Thanks and best regards,
Ampex
