Couldn't have gotten these if the birds weren't in a net enclosure, but I just love them so I thought i would share:

These are such beautiful and colorful birds. I love the iridescence in their feathers.

Some might say it is cheating, some might not. We each make our own rules. Nice job would, have liked to seen larger images.

You can go to my web at www.jewelmcdonald.zenfolio.com (external link) and then under "nature" gallery to see full size images. I am just now getting my pictures on there, so bear with me.

I actually got better shots of the birds and the flowers than I did butterflies. It was a great photography day. Butterfly World is in south Florida.

Here's a couple flower shots from there - these are called passion flowers that attract butterflies:

Of course for bird photography lovers, I live in probably one of the most awesome areas. Merritt Island, Florida is home to more diverse species of endangered wildlife than any other place in the US. Like the great blue heron. These are everywhere in my area.

Even the flowers look like birds. :)

Very nice shots, Jewel. I've done the same, at the butterfly house in Key West. They have such exotic birds you would never see in the wild.

BTW, we spent a week in Brevard County last spring and loved visiting all the wildlife refuges, wetlands, etc in your area. Hope to go back before too long, but there are so many places in Florida, it's hard to get around to all of them.
