Am just getting ready to buy a T1i, and came across this forum. But as I look around, it appears hardly anyone has one. Should I take that as a sign that I should be looking at a different model?

Naw its a great camera. The Rebel series shooters are just the only ones out taking pictures. The rest are pixel peeping gear junkies that hang out on the internet. LOL Just kidding. The T1i is a great camera! Do some research and have a blast!

Dad has a T1i he just bought, I've used it a bit and truthfully, its a fantastic camera I can find little wrong with [ok im not a fan of the ergonomics..and id hate to try my 100-400 on it...] really a great buy unless you want the ergonomics or build of a xxD

Thanks! Either search on here is broken, or I was using the wrong terms. I now feel MUCH better about what I'm going to be doing to my bank account next week :D

Concerning ergonomics, I purchased an Opteka battery grip for the T1i and now the body feels great in my large hands.

Ugh please don't remind of the ridiculous costs this "hobby" is starting to turn out to be. I thought golf gear was expensive.....but it has finally met its match.

It's an awesome camera! And out of any Rebel, it actually feels like a quality camera and not so plastic like the others below it. You'll love it. Is it your first SLR?

Really..do tell. I owned an XSi and use my friend's T1i frequently, I'm interested to see where you think the XSi falls short of the T1i.
