Just saying - I've run into instances where the multiple SSIDs have thrown a computer into a tizzy. Not sure that the EyeFi allows you to select a channel though. The original one wouldn't.

I believe in show me , they could not get it to work . I did not buy . I went thru camera then computer dept . You will buy very little if you have to rely on salsmen to show you everything. I have found that the salesmen usually know the least about what they sell.

But I plan on teaching photography thru Parks & Recreation departments in my area, and I plan on using a digital projector with Powerpoint illustrations from my laptop. I anticipate having questions arise which are best illustrated with a live demo. I wanted to be able to shoot examples of the principles within a class setting as the instructor, and have shots materialize on my laptop directly without shooting tethered, so that I could immediately project them for students to see without removing the CF from the camera and loading into a reader. I might have to accept shooting tethered, if I can't get the ad hoc link functioning. You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! Dec 23, 2009 23:50 | #23 Thanks for the illustrations, simplyblue. Where I run into the problem is that after I set up my ad hoc network in the laptop (using name 'George' for example), the name 'George' will simply not appear on the screen like your name ' Blue' appears at Step 4 of your example! I can use a second laptop and refresh wireless networks to see the name 'George' as ad hoc network on the second laptop, but 'George' is not on the Eye Fi visible list! I tried everything from connecting to my router, repair(disable) my wireless card, keep refreshing & adding the network... I think the main problem is eye-fi's main software keep insisting on connecting to the net to configure the d@#n card. I don't know why some companies keep ruin their fine products by including ridiculously bad software! ![]() Oh, thanks for letting me know similar issues happen with Win7, too! I have tried with my laptop hardwire connected to the network, so the wireless link is being used only for the ad hoc connection, but that ran into the same issue, where the Wi Fi would not list the ad hoc network name so it could be selected. I will next try to delete the wireless TCP/IP home network connection from the laptop's list of wireless configurations, leaving only the ad hoc one (per Jon's post), and see if that helps.
