How can I access the clock battery?

edit: found it. will report back in 20 minutes

It is kind of hard to find, page 235. Good luck, that should put you back to where you were when you first received the camera.

So I did a hard reset, it didn't solve it. I will be shipping it to Canon. Thanks for your help.

Forget Canon then. If you're sure you can't do anything with it log in to your Newegg account and request an RMA for exchange. I did this on a bad 17-40L about six weeks ago. They shipped the replacement the day after the bad one got back to them.

No problem, thank you for that. Hopefully I wont get a defective one.

I didn't get a defective lens back and in fact starting to think I got a very sharp copy. You will only be out the cost to ship it back to them and I think you will have the replacement faster than if you sent that one in to Canon.

Looking forward to the replacement then!

One more thing, be sure to follow the instructions about posting the RMA barcode on the outside of the box. Faliure to do that will delay the exchange several business days. Good luck with it.

Thanks. Can I ship it by USPS or does it have to be UPS? Which one is faster/cheaper?

Depends on where you are. USPS Priority will be the safe bet, two or three days even if you're on the east coast. The return address is in the Los Angeles area. I hate UPS and refuse to use them.
