Last weekend it was rainy and windy and we went to the beach. I took my 7D, no bag at all to put it in. Shot for an hour with rain pouring down. The 7D worked flawlessly.

Never had a problem, but when I go in bad weather I only use the 70-200 and will not use my 17-55. Never had I had put the camera in the conditions he mentioned in this article, but makes me feel much more comfortable with my 7D in the rain. I tend to be overly cautious of my gear and treat them like my 2 year old son but I haven't really feared rain or snow. I have been more concerned about either getting on the front of the lens making it impossible to shoot after that until I could get home and clean it. 5D III, 24-105mm f/4 L, 135mm f/2 L, 70-200mm f/4 IS L, 580EX II
