Right now shooting on a T1i. I have a 10-22mm (got it cheap and absolutely love this lens), two 50mm primes (one is my buddies he doesn't use) and a 55-250mm. I find that I do not use the 55-250 even when I put it on my camera and carry it with me. I just don't use any long focal lengths. So, I need to fill my gap of 22-50 obviously, and the longer end. Loving the samples I see of the 85mm, and it works on FF (my gf is hinting she may just get me one even though I can't even use the T1i to great ability yet).

Today, Bing cashback on ebay is 20%, so I jumped on it. Going to sell the 55-250. And if I go FF, I'll sell the 10-22mm and get a 17-40. Got it from Adorama on ebay for about $300 after the bing cashback comes through. Moral of my story? If you've been eyeing any lenses on ebay do it now and get 20% cash back in your pocket!

Is this an ad?

Maybe not. Anyway, thanks for the heads up and congrats on the new lens.

An ad for ?? If it was there should be a link ;) Just wanted to give anyone who has been looking for a lens a heads up that you can get 20% cash back courtesy of Microsoft, up to $200. Definitely not an ad :) Very excited for the 85mm as some of the pics I see here are mind blowing (esp. on FF but I'm not there yet ... )

Good lens purchase. I also bought it recently and it's been somewhat of a challenge to get use to shooting with it on a crop body. I was used to walking around with a 28 1.8 and taking up-close shots, but now I find myself standing really far away and coming off as a stalker. :o

I also just purchased the 85mm 1.8. Waiting for it to be delivered now. The pictures posted in the 85mm 1.8 gallery are impressive. I can't wait to have it.

First sign up for a Bing CashBack (BCB) account. Then you go to a merchant's website through the BCB website by searching for the item you want. Before it directs you to the site, it will tell you that BCB will be applied to your purchase. Buy the item as you normally would online, and you will get an e-mail about your cash back. This amount will be on your BCB account and you can withdraw it to your own bank account.

Add me to the list that purchased the 85 1.8 with the cashback, however it was only 15% when I did it.

Are there any extra fees associated with this at any time?

On the surface this seems wayyyyyyyyyy to easy, haha

No, it really is easy. But the amount fluctuates at all time. Sign up for a BCB account, as stated (if you have a Live account/hotmail/xbox live etc. it'll work). Make sure you also have a paypal account as well. You can do this all during purchase but I find it easier to have all the accounts set up. I'm nervous like that :)

Then you just go to bing.com and search for something (certain keywords give certain amounts). What those keywords are, I have no idea sometimes, but I just check this forum:
http://slickdeals.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=9 (external link)

When you search, you'll see in the banner ads at the top that say "Ebay Bing Cashback. When you buy, you may get 8% cash back if eligible." Then you click the link, and at the top of the Ebay site you will see a badge. As long as you dont veer off the site, that badge will stay there as you search and complete your order (must pay through paypal). After a few days, check your Bing cashback account, there should be an amount pending. You get it after 60 days. I bought my T1i that way. That is the ebay process. Many stores also have Bing. Walmart and Dell were 20% for a while.

I think they've brought it down to 8-10% for most stores right now. But just check frequently. It was at 30-35% last year. Oh, and whatever you buy make sure you don't pay too much on ebay, some resellers jack up the price when Cashback goes up. So just compare to retail prices (I got from Adorama's ebay store so it was easy to compare)

Hope that helps.

The 85mm 1.8 showed up at my door step today. Unfortunately, I bought it last week from Adorama with Bing at 10%.
