Great shots Grady, do you use the centre spot to focus lock and then recompose on off centre subjects like in these shots?

Yes I did use the center spot, but those shots I cropped them off center to take out some of the background that would be distracting and take away from my girls. And thanks for the compliments!

Not exactly sure this counts, but one of my 10Ds has been converted to IR. Just used it for the first time this weekend -

(I still have a LOT to learn about editing the output from this camera)

Just wanted to ask, since I noticed a number of the 10D pics are black and white, how are you getting that , by shooting in Raw ? or is there a setting in the 10 that I have not come across to shoot B/W.

These photo samples exemplifies that the most essential thing to great exposure & quality shots are the photographer (and at least a decent set of lens!). I have the 20D and it does great work for what I need. I see the 10D is a great tool as well.

Great work!

YUP, This counts. Keep us informed on how you like that IR conversion.
Feel free to posts more images from it too. :)

Nope.. No B&W or sepia or picture styles or anything like that... The 10D only shoots regular old color :)

Of course with post processing, you can turn images into black and white.. As a matter of fact, there are plug-ins for Photoshop to do just that. Post processing after the fact generally produces better results than the 'canned' effects done in the camera.
