I've just ordered a 10D off of ebay.. Looked excellent condition, and still had original box, so I am hoping it works well! Can't wait to get out with it and take some shots..

I notice they are still quite popular on ebay, some going for quite high prices (£300ish/ $500), although I was lucky and got mine for quite a bit less.

I really wanted/ needed a dslr, loved the feel of a 50D but currently don't have the bank balance to afford the 50D, so the 10D was my only option for the time being :)

Can't wait for it to arrive!!

Some great shots posted here for sure. :D Here's one of the skyline at Jacksonville, Florida, with Friendship Fountain in the foreground.

YUP, This counts. Keep us informed on how you like that IR conversion.
Feel free to posts more images from it too. :)

Not sure how I missed this -

Embarrassingly enough, I haven't shot since that weekend yet. Living in the great white north, IR shooting is relegated to either the summer months or in the studio. When I took the shots I posted it was on a trip to southern TN (Winchester) to visit a friend doing a commercial shoot (his model).

And just three weeks ago, I loaned it to a friend who was taking a road trip out West. But soon ... I'll have it back and I am SO looking forward to it.

I really love this thing.

- No need for a changing bag to swap film out.
- Focusing through the lens w/o adding a filter later
- Safe & sane shutter speeds

The largest downside I've seen thus far (other than having to learn how to PP these things) is that you have to work with offsetting focus when you're shooting wide open on most lenses.

In the meantime, here's a few more from that weekend in TN -

Hey Randy, I really like how the first image turned out. That's a "GREAT" IR portrait! ;)

I can relate to that. Many years ago I actually shot IR "Film". What a PITA! The camera had to be loaded and unloaded in absolute darkness, meaning ZERO light. You had better be "real" familiar with your camera to do this. Also, you couldn't use one of those new (at the time) camera's with auto film winding, as the internal counter would fog the film.
Well I only did that one time due to the difficulty in loading, unloading, and processing. I had the processing done at a lab that would only do this on rare occasion anyway.
I could see the possibilities otherwise, especially now that shooting digital has taken the loading, unloading, and processing out of the equation. :)

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Thanks very much Bruce. I find the results very interesting sometimes. The top she's wearing in that shot was actually gray & dark blue alternating horizontal stripes under the design on it.

+1 on film loading problems. I took a Noblex to Maui one year and putting film in that thing in a changing bag was an interesting experience.

I'll just bet it was. I've never handled a Noblex, or any other panoramic camera of that sort, and I can only imagine the difficulty that loading it might present. I'm thinking it has to be an inner and outer shell of some sort?

Exactly like that ... think Leica screw mount with a long curved film plane.
