Here's a 10D evening photo of a bridge in Winnipeg, Canada, taken a few years ago. I used a fairly cheap EF 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 lens...

A big thanks to everyone for making up my mind to get 10d. I just picked up a great condition 10d with 9922 clicks, 2G cf card, 2 canon batteries and charger, box ect... for $100 canadian. Did some quick shoots and all I can say is... WOW!
I also have XSi for 9 months now but I like the quality of images from 10d over XSi.

Wow that is a great bargain you got. Hope it gives you years of enjoyment. You don't need the latest and greatest to take good photos. I remember when doing a photography class years ago in the days of film, a girl in the class had an old manual camera whilst we all had the latest auto SLRs. She took the best pics out of the lot of us!

Just about that time of year again. Last year I was very new to both the camera and the processing. Hopefully this year I'll do better.

Hey Cold, WELCOME to the forum! :) Nice set. I especially enjoyed the Boat/Ocean horizon, the City/Ocean horizon, shots, and the Pelican/horizon.

I bough 10d after reading this thread and glad i did. I love it over my XSi. It is a great camera to learn photography and I now believe that it produces great images as long as you keep it under 400 iso. I am newbie and still learning from great people here at POTN. Here is my first pic from 10d. I am hoping I resized the image for posting properly.

Just re-read this entire thread. I might have to dust off my 10D and take a few shots and compare to my 40D using the same lens on both.

10D has been shelved since buying the 40D. I plan to use the 10D when I go ATV riding, but I haven't gone riding since buying the 40D .

Good thread and great pics!!

Keep em coming!!

Good bargain, but its no surprise, its an old camera. Can you tell me how you know how many exposures its made(that is what you mean by 9922 clicks right?) How do I find that out on my 10D?

Not to butt-in, but I think the only way to know is by an actual photo count from new. EOSInfo doesn't work on DIGIC II bodies.

If there's another way, I'd love to know so I can find out how many clicks my 10D has.

I'm glad I've found this group of 10D enthusiasts.

I've had a 10 D for 4 or 5 years now, but I have not been able to get great photos like the ones I see in this forum.
I really like landscape and travel photos and need your advice about a lens for this purpose and this camera.
I have the Canon EF 28-135mm IS USM and the EF 100-400mmL IS USM; what lens do you recommend for landscape and travel? I'm not that experienced yet in photography, so I'll appreciate the more details you can share about the recommended lens.

In a future post, I'll upload some of the photos I have taken for your critique.

Thanks,

José
