checking in... just picked up a 10D (2 Canon batteries) with a Canon 28-105 3.5-4.5 with hood, Tamron 19-35 3.5-4.5 for $60 on CL! Already had the 28-105, and the Tamron feels cheap, but the 10D is awesome!!

Everything for 60 dollars? That sounds slightly suspicious lol

I suspect he was referring to the Tamron 19-35. ;)

I don't see the humor, except that you think it's funny to compare the T1i to the 10D because of how different they are.

Although the 10D is an older DSLR...

As DSLR cameras go, the 10D is an oldie (although not as old as the Canon D60 which I converted to shoot in full-time IR).

It doesn't have many of the bells and whistles of the newer cameras. However, this oldie-but-goodie is still capable of producing excellent imagery when used with decent lenses. I don't know if it is my imagination but, I love the color that this camera produces.

The main drawback to the 10D (IMO) is the inability to utilize EF-S lenses. The EF-S mount lenses have become the building blocks of many 1.6x systems. Because of that inability, I have relegated the 10D to the status of back-up camera while I shoot with the 30D and 40D as my primary bodies.

Wow I looked through the pictures in this thread, and they are awesome! I agree that the colors seem very realistic, I wonder why the 10d isn't more popular like the 20d? Even though i'm new to the hobby, I'm considering a 10d because of the price, and quality.

Besides being one generation older... I would guess that the reason the 20D might be more popular is its ability to use EF-S lenses...

However, other than being a bit slower on start-up and having a smaller cache, the 10D is and always was a fine camera and is, probably, one of the best buys for a photographer entering the DSLR field. However, to purchase a 10D as a back-up to either a xxxD or a 20D and later xxD camera would depend on the lenses that you own and expect to own.

I don't think it's your imagination. This has been noted elsewhere too.

As I re-reviewed my 10D photos, the new ones I see here now astound me with the most accurate color, perfect clarity and a smooth sharpness that is rare in digital photography in this 21st century. 7D, 5D2 included.

This prompts me to break out the 10D once again and re-new that friendship.

So you see, you might be on to something. ;)

Owner was legit. Had box, and everything for the lenses and camera. Was a good score and i have a person that works for canon that can clean and service cameras for me too, hopefully the 10D is not too old.

And why should you? The 10D is just a darn good camera, period. It's color rendition is just fabulous.

well mine might be going up for sale soon in the sell section, but I will need to sell it all as a package, cuz im trying to buy a 1D classic and the lens I have wont work good with it.

Oh my, thought you two would last forever.

Let me tell you, the 1D is pure magic. There is something special with those files from the 1D. Must be that CCD sensor or something, and even though it's 4.1 MP, the files just seem to have more resolution. Also, the 1D files upsize very well if you need to print really big.

You will be blown away by the speed of the 1D, and then you will curse it to no end when you try to make simple changes or need to navigate the menu...

Grady, the 1D is a beast, and you'll love it.

When you do post your 10D for sale, give me a PM so I can put in a good word for you in your thread.

Hi Danny, That's a GREAT looking image! :) Could be used for a Coca Cola commercial. And if it's taking images like that, I don't see any reason to get rid of it either. ;)
We're glad you found this thread too.
