Siginu, where these taken with your 18-55?
Great color and sharp!

Yes, its hacked up to fit on the 10D. Some day I'll have some nicer glass, but it's tough to go wide on the cheap for this body.

I think the only two things I find limiting are the limited lens choices to go wide and I think the AF is a little hit and miss, otherwise I really like how the 10D captures colors, contrast, and depth.

Nice perspective, I like the way the 10D gets the sky.
Do you guys usually shoot JPEG or RAW?

I'm using UFRaw to open and then do some processing of the white balance etc, and then open in Gimp to edit as a JPEG, I'm not sure if that's the best method. But, here's a couple more for the thread.

Yoyodunno
I usually shoot in raw. There's just so much more information to work with in raw. I just started using Lightroom 3 to process them. Before then I used Camera Raw then into Photoshop for final touchup.
Nice photos!! Good work!!!

Whats the going prices for 10D now a days? I am looking to pick up a old one as a extremely cheap backup method and my throw around camera.

Does anyone know how the 10D compares to the 40D? would it be a good back up to a 40D? I currently have a 40D and I am looking for a fairly cheap body as a back up. I am deciding between the 10D and 20D. I have found the 10D for around $120. The 20D is about $250. What would you guys recommend?

I had the 10D along with the 40D, and loved it. If you've been reading up in here about the 10D, you'll know what you are getting into with the 10D. It's slow, has a small and slow-to-load lcd and has a small buffer. HOWEVER, it's color rendition is fantastic. I've printed 13x19s from 10D files no problem. The 10D can still take great photos.Furthermore, if you have EFS lenses in you kit or plan on getting any, they won't mount on the 10D (without modding said EFS lenses). Now, if you need your backup to perform closer to your 40D specs, perhaps the 20D is a better choice for you.Jason C

Rhuel, don't know if you post here lately, but I'm just curious about what the girl (your daughter?) was shooting that day.

I love to see what kids shoot.
