Photo resize help

I never had this problem before but now when I resize my photos to like 800x533 the file size is still way to big. It is around 580KB. Why all of a sudden is this happening?


I just got my first pair of glasses that I didn't think I needed. I apologize to anybody in the past year that I said their pictures were out of focus lol.

what are you saving it as - high, medium?
