This is a bull moose that was less than 100 yards from me while I was deer hunting. I was sitting down in some tall grass and didn't want to stand up. Seeing how aggressive bull moose can be, I didn't want to attract anymore attention then I already had!
I've only really shot (with my camera
) deer as far as wildlife photography goes, so I am interested in any help you might have as far as composition and PP'ing. I've tried to stay away from having the moose in the center of the compostion, keeping to the rule of thirds (or at least trying to). Any C&C you might have will be greatly appreciated!
All were shot with my 1D MkII an 70-200 f/2.8L. Yes, he was that close. A couple of these are very slightly cropped for composition. Most are not cropped at all. I shot at ISO 160, and shutter speeds around 1/160. I slightly adjusted levels, contrast, and saturation, nothing too much. I sharpened using a technique I learned over in the PP forum, in the thread on sharpening, for finer detail-type shots. It Edge Mask Sharpening. I find it works pretty nice!
