Icicles after a winter snow

I love the day after a snow fall when the sun and blue sky appear. These are some of the icicle formations on some small tree limbs. I was able to capture them before the warmth of the sun sent them crashing to the ground.

Interesting shapes. Like the highlights on the last 2 especially.

Nice shots! The first one looks like an Arabian mare's head. I'm torn about the star effect on the latter photos. The effect is so rarely seen in reality that I think it pulls the view away from seeing a nature shot to seeing a special effect. But, at least it was nicely done in an almost minimalist way.

Thanks Pardes. The star effects in this case are natural. With the exception of sharpening and a contrast adjustment in post processing the picture is rendered as it was recorded by the camera.
