I'm bouncing back and forth. I like the grip more for the vertical controls than the extra battery.. I only use two batteries during weddings.

When I had the 400D, it was gripped permanently.

Now I have the 50D, I dont feel I need a grip any more as the body size is significantly larger and more comfortable.

LOLz!! i know the feeling!! and i know over time with bigger lenses everything's only going to get heavier and heavier!! ahh i love it though!! *kisses my camera!*
